The Trauma has past so now I can post this funny story:)

So, during spring break, I really wanted to highlight my hair. It had been at least a year since I'd last had my hair high lighted and I was pumped! But...It didn't happen. So about a week later I'm a shopping at Lee's Market Place when I pace by some boxes of do-it-yourself hair color that make coloring your hair at home look easy peasy.

I think to myself, Tara, you could do this and it would be so much fun to have your dark blond locks become bright and happy again! So I say, "Self, you are so right". I grab a box of blond that said it would bring out my natural blond highlights and continue on my merry shopping way.

The next morning, I decide it is time! Everything goes pretty well. I think I'm following the directions right. I get the goop on my head and wait, wait, wait.

I start to notice the top of my hair (my dark roots) is turning a slightly different variation of the lovely blond the rest of my hair is turning. It's this, brassy blond orange-ish color. I think to myself 'just wait until the time is up, it's just in the changing process.

End of the changing process, Flaming brassy orange-ish roots with blond every where else.

Mortified Tara goes and cries on Karl's shoulder while he tries hard not to laugh and help Tara feel better.

3 hours later after extensive work from a fabulous hair stylist at Leilana Salon (who may have been slightly annoyed that I took that long and made all of her other appointments back up and made it so she was there way longer than she wanted to be), my hair is now a normal blond color.

Moral of the story: Tara is not good at doing spontaneous things like this on her own without expert help from someone else. And box hair color is not a good idea for Tara

(And yes, I realize I switched to speaking in third person during this post, but it helped with dramatic effect, right?)
