sooooo...............

I couldn't think of a clever post that these pics would actually work in, so I'm doing a random today. But seriously, all my posts are what the random. So I'm doing a normal post!

I could try not to laugh at my own jokes, but seriously I'm hilarious. New favorite joke:
What do you call a psychic midget that just escaped from prison?................................................. A small medium at large!!!

Amen!

We officially have t minus one week until finals week which doesn't really count because I'm done by Tuesday!!!

We officially have t minus three weeks until we are on the road to sweet and sunny Arizona!

Speaking of Arizona, every blogger that I like I find out lives in Arizona. I'm pretty much taking this as a sign!

Exhibit A: I believe in unicorns

Exhibit B: peace love lauren

Exhibit C: busy bee lauren

And the latest one.....

Exhibit D: Living with Fletch

I'm not really sure if they are from Arizona, but they got married in the Mesa temple so that automatically made me follow her blog!

I use exclamation points a lot when I write.

Some other excitingish things happening around here in the last few weeks:

Karl dislocated his shoulder -again- playing ward basketball. At least it wasn't just dropping a golf ball this time:) He got it back in and hopefully we can keep it that way.

My cousin Brynn is coming to visit me tomorrow! I haven't seen this girl in awhile so I'm pumped to catch up.

I have zero desire to finish homework right now. Man I think the end of the semester is gonna be a rough one.

If April Showers bring May Flowers, What do May Flowers bring?

Pilgrims of course!

There are all kinds of exciting things happening in the Beckert casa as of late. We're finding answers to big decisions and are grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who is guiding us while we make every single one. It's incredible to me that someone as insignificant and small in the eternal scope of things like I am can feel so much love from her Father in Heaven. That even things I worry about that probably don't have that much to do with my eternal salvation, matter to Heavenly Father simply because I matter to him.

I've decided not to apply for graduate school this year. It's been so hard trying to decide what to do, but in the end I just feel like I'm being pulled in a different direction than I always thought I'd go. It's still hard to imagine myself doing something different than I always thought I would, but listening to the spirit is a powerful thing that I trust will bring a lot of happiness. This turkey season, I'm grateful for sweet, simple answers to prayer. They bring me more courage and confidence than I could muster up on my own. I am eternally grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

This turkey season I'm trying to think of all the little blessings that bring me joy. I love seeing all the little things add up into a big long list. So here are just a few little things I'm thankful for:

1)Blankets in this cold Logan weather

2) Pictures of my cute niece that always make me smile (Addie is just so darn cute Nicole and Talon!)
(I couldn't help but steal this picture from your blog Nicolie. I love it so much!)

3) Crunching leaves on the way home from school

4) Getting emails from my bro. Oldungur Anderson and finding jokes to send him every week like the one above:)

5) Laughing when I stumble upon little gems like this picture below

My wish for myself and you:) Happy Thanksgiving!

The Rains Came Down, But Its Still Cold So Hopefully the Floods Don't Come Up!

Hello People!

So, not too many exciting things have been happening in the extremely exciting world of Tara, but I like to blog so I am going to think of things to blog about right here, right now! (and if I haven't lost you already I'm pretty impressed with your will power).

Anyways, here are a few things that have been exciting as of late.

Baby Addie has come home and I am now an Aunt officially! Ya, I was an aunt already three weeks ago when she came. I realize that. But It didn't feel very real until I got to see her and meet her in person. She is so beautiful! She has Nicole's cute little nose and these beautiful big blue eyes! She is so strong to! She is always lifting her head and looking around. I am fascinated with this tiny little person that has truly been a miracle on so many levels! I can't wait until I get to hold her:) Sure, I'll probably stay in one spot on the couch without moving a muscle until my turn is over, but I'll enjoy every second of it!

I learned something new about my husband today. He is terrified of a mountain lion attack. He says in Arizona, they don't see a ton of wild life like we do here. He was so freaked out the first time he saw a deer in his neighborhood! Anyways, we've been talking about plans/dreams for the future and staying here was one of the things we talked about, but Karl said he doesn't know if he can handle the fact that we have mountain lions here. Grant it, I would freak if I ever saw one, but I have never seen one after 20 years of living in Utah! Even that didn't convince him. Poor guy.

We are almost to The Final Count Down!!! (Sing that to the song The Final Countdown for dramatic effect). Only three weeks left for the semester! If you countt finals week, which I do NOT, because I only have one final I actually have to come to campus for and I think that is a sa-weet dealio.

I'm looking for a second job this summer in Logan. Possibly working with the little people (I mean kids in case you are wondering). If any of you hear of anything (since I know there are so many of you that actually read this thing, but I like to pretend), let me know.

I just realized how many times of put things in parenthesis this post. I apologize for my parenthesis happiness.

I never put pictures on this blog. I don't know why. Oh wait, I do. I never pull out my camera and use it. I'll get on that people so you can see the oh so exciting day to day changes (or every once in awhile changes) of Karl and Tara Beckert!!!

Have a lovely April day!

I'll come back when I have actual exciting things to post about. Or if I get bored again. The later is most likely what 'll happen so ya.

Bye!

Cookie Night!

Karl and I decided to celebrate the end of finals week by having a delicious meal of chicken, mashed patatoes and an assortment of veggies followed by.......

Sugar Cookies!

I had never made cookies myself before (please don't judge me), but they actually turned out pretty well and we had a good time decorating them before we ate them with hot chocolate while watching White Christmas.

It was a fabulous way to celebrate the end of finals:)

Cookies before decorating and after.

Karl enjoying his cookies.
Me and my cookies!

Two happy cookies makers:)

Enjoy your break everyone who gets one!

AND

Happy almost Christmas!!!

Mono est Mono

So it has been forever since I last blogged, but I've been a bit under the weather and trying to get on top of studying for finals/surviving my last week of classes.

I ended up getting sick about a month and a half ago with a sinus infection, which then become mono, which then added strep throat to the mono. It's been quite an adventure. And poor Karl has had to take care of me being sick for more than half of our married life now! He is a champion and I love him even more now:)

Who else would sleep on the floor by me for a week because I slept better on the couch, or tell me that I look pretty even when I have broken out in a mono rash that resembles either a bruise or really gross looking hives? Or who else when I ended up getting flu like symptoms right after I started feeling better from the mono would go to the store to get me Gatorade and hold me while my head wouldn't stop hurting? This guy even at ten at night went to his parents house to get a camera so I could film him reading a story I had to interpret for my ASL class the next day! Basically, I don't know how I got so lucky:) Yes, pretty much every post I have put up on this blog I probably make you all nauseated by how much I talk about my undying affection for my husband, but he is a majorly important part of my life now and I want to remember the things that made us grow even closer together in our married life.
(Here is the video of Karl reading If You Take a Mouse to the Movies for me. He's the best!)

Despite me getting sick, we have had some good times during the holidays.

We got to spend Thanksgiving day with the Anderson, Hansen, Peterson clan, which means there was never a dull moment:) Sure, I slept through most of Thanksgiving, but I still had a good time. We got to spend a lot of time hanging out with my siblings, which I love getting to do since we don't get to all be together too often any more. Then on Friday, we spent the day with the Beckert clan. We got to have Thanksgiving left overs for lunch (yummy:)) and we watched ELF, which is hilarious!

Karl and I got our first Christmas tree over the break! It looks great and I love getting to turn on the lights and sit by our tree at night!

Now we are just gearing up for finals and so so ready for a break this holiday season.

Good luck to all of you who are gearing up for finals and Happy Christmas!
