....

I don't really know what to post today, but I'm sitting at a computer at work with very few people in the lab and I'm avoiding studying for my Anatomy of the Ear class because I don't even know how to begin studying for that class so I've been blog stalking people for the past hour( don't judge me, I know you all do it to). Maybe I'll just give a few updates...

I dropped my ASL 2 class. I kind of feel like I wimped out on the class, but it's not a class I'm required to take and I didn't like the incredibly frustrated feeling I got every time I was in the class or thinking about the class. Now was just not my time to attempt to master sign language. Instead, I'm taking this awesome assistive technology class where I have already gotten to build a modified book stand for an individual with a disability and I get to help fit an awesome little boy who has a recent TBI with some assistive technology that will help him out a ton. It's a great class, and I am so glad I made the switch.

I got sick again yesterday. So fun! But my awesome husband held me and made me feel better while we studied for his psychology test on Friday (I am his official quizer:) and watched episodes of the Dick Van Dyke Show.
P.S. If you have never seen the Dick Van Dyke Show, I highly recommend looking it up. It's fantastic!
I'm feeling much better after my third trip to the insta care in the past two months. My body has got stop being angry with me! Or I just have to double my efforts of keeping myself healthy.

I am super excited to decorate my apartment with Valentines Day decorations thanks to my lovely most wonderful mom who came up to Logan on Sunday with my super awesome dad and Dash (my most favorite dog in the world). She brought decorations to help me out with the beautification of the apartment for the next few holidays. AND...she bought me a glue gun so I can do the button earring project! My family is so wonderful:)

I'm excited for this weekend because me, Karl, and the G-man will be heading down to Bountiful to hang out with my parents and Shae-Shae and so Karl and I can get together with one of the awesome members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from Sydney, Australia that Karl met on his mission. He is in Salt Lake for awhile and wanted to have dinner. So I can't wait for it to be approximately 3 in the afternoon tomorrow so we can begin our mini trip.

Anyways, I should start studying now that I have wasted the past two hours of work. Have a lovely day and a fantastic weekend!

Working

I love love love my job!

I am chilling at the South Desk in the Library with really not too much to do

but blog stalk and

people watch. It sounds kind of creepy, but I love watching people.

People are fascinating and sometimes, strange.

Anyways.....

Life is pretty sweet thus far. I am taking a sign language 2 class that I think might kill me.

I love sign language so much, but it feels like sign 2 took a gigantic leap from sign 1 and

I am struggling to keep up!

I'll just try to look at it as an opportunity for growth.

In other news, I read this blog today and she has the cutest tutorial for button earrings!

I am way stoked to try it as soon as I find someone who has a hot glue gun they'd be willing

to let me borrow:)

I love trying new things like this. It makes me feel like I'm kind of crafty.

The people who come up with this stuff are ingenious!

In other other news, I recently finished the hunger games and let me tell you it was like reading

1984 all over again! (I disliked that book so so so much! And the Hunger Games had about the

same effect on my mood).

Does anybody else really like those books and have a desire to talk me out of my dislike of them?

I am a sucker for a happy ending, and although this series had a...satisfying(?) ending, I was

mad for most of the book!

I'll keep enjoying my fairy tales where good always triumphs over evil!

Anyways, the weekends almost here and I am pumped!

Happy weekend to you all!

P.S. Kenzie, this post was for you. I promise to try to be a good blogger so when you look at my blog, you have something new to read. (Even if it's nonsense like this post)

Help For the Overwhelmed

I can't take credit for this post because it was the inspired feeling I felt when I read Ashley Benjamen's blog post about feeling overwhelmed and needing to sort out priorities that made me decide to write it.

I know a lot of us are feeling overwhelmed with school already and it's only day three!

My emotions have been so up and down the past couple days of school. I was excited to start my new Communicative Disorders classes, overwhelmed by my new work load, and I have just felt like something hasn't been quite right.

After reading Ashley's post and reading a talk by Elder Ballard about focusing on priorities (read it!), I feel so much better. It put things back into perspective for me.

I haven't spent enough time making sure I put the Lord first. Everything else falls into place when I remember to put him first.

He is with me in everything I do when I spend time with him each day.

Elder Ballard gave these six suggestions for prioritizing our time.

1-Think about your life and your priorities always keeping in mind the covenants you have made with the Lord as you write down your daily schedule.

2-Set short term goals that you are able to attain and pray about what these goals should be.

3-Create a wise budget for yourself to ensure that your needs are met and wants don't trump needs.

4-Stay close to family and friends. Honest, open communication with the people you are close to brings happiness into life and creates a good support system.

5-Study the scriptures. There have been many times in my life where turning to the scriptures brought a comfort and peace into my life that I couldn't get from anywhere else.

6-Pray. That lifeline is so important! Talk to your Father in Heaven. He loves you and he wants to help you.

This talk has really helped me refocus my goals and priorities for this semester.

I know I am feeling better already and I hope you are to!

Good luck with school!!!

On a side note....my engagement pictures are done!
